The Emergency First Response Care for Children® course teaches people how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children and infants.
This course allows participants to learn, practice and apply emergency skills in a nonstressful environment that encourages action. It is designed for those that work with children or are likely to have to respond to child emergencies, parents with children, babysitters, child-minders, crèche caregivers and any individual with a duty to respond. The course may also be integrated with the Emergency first Response Primary Care (CPR) or Emergency First Response (First Aid) courses for individuals who want to be better prepared to care for people of all ages in a variety of circumstances.
The Emergency First Response Care for children course is based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care that were produced through a consensus process of practicing professionals in the emergency medical field.
Accident scene management, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Child CPR, Infant CPR, Conscious Choking Child & Infant, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management, Injury Management, Bandaging, Illness and Recommended Skill – Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use with children.
